The brief

The clients loved their bungalow and the area they lived in. The problem was their family had outgrown the home and they needed more room. Our challenge was to significantly increase the space in their existing home so that they wouldn’t have to move, taking care of both the design and construction of the renovation.

The work

On paper, the construction stage seemed relatively straightforward. The clients move out temporarily, we remove the roof and back of the bungalow, and then rebuild it all before they come back. Simple, but not easy. With challenging time constraints hanging over a project, there’s a lot that can go wrong, but by ensuring our preparation was watertight and maintaining strong communication throughout the build, we kept the construction on schedule.

The result

On completion, we had doubled the floor area of the clients’ home, whilst ensuring the bungalow was in keeping with the neighbouring buildings. But rather than tell you what we think, here’s what the clients have to say about their new home…

What people say about us

We were so glad we chose King and Drury to do our bungalow conversion. Because they made the process as stress free as possible with excellent project management skills and a very high standard of workmanship. This resulted in a house we are truly proud of and would not hesitate to recommend them.
